Date: September 23, 2026. Lesson 188-2026. When Pride and Anger Take Control

In this edition of Morning Manna, Rick Wiles and Doc Burkhart examine Proverbs 29:21–23 and three patterns whose consequences often appear long after they begin: indulgence, anger, and pride. Solomon warns that sustained indulgence can produce entitlement rather than gratitude, while uncontrolled anger not only stirs up conflict but opens the door to further sin. The Septuagint adds a vivid picture: fury “digs up sin,” resurrecting old grievances that should have remained buried. Beneath much of that anger lies an even deeper problem: pride. Solomon declares, “A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.” This lesson challenges us to establish healthy boundaries, govern our anger, and choose humility before pride brings us down.
