Genesis Lesson 37: The Dead Sea War {Aka ”Ten-King War” - First War in History!}
Genesis 14:1-16 We discuss the very first recorded account of war, not only in the Bible, but in all ancient literature! It is called "The Dead Sea War" or "The 10-King War" (it was a rebellion of five kings against four kings, and the tenth "king" was Abram. Also, after the war, a mysterious eleventh King appeared from seemingly nowhere. His name is Melchizedek). Through this encounter, Abraham faced three more "tests": (1) "The Compassion Test" - in which he risked his life to rescue his nephew, (2) a "repeat" on "The Courage Test," which he failed in Egypt, but passed with flying colors in his rescue of Lot, and (3) "The Completion Test," which he also passed with flying colors. For more on the fascinating truths and prophetic aspect of this first recorded war of history, see Lesson 9 "The 10-King War and Melchizedek" under "CHRIST in GENESIS" on this podcast.
