This Privacy Policy describes how OndaCast ("OndaCast," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the OndaCast website at ondacast.com, any associated mobile applications, and all related services (collectively, the "OndaCast Service"). By accessing or using the OndaCast Service, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, display name, and profile picture. If you sign in using a third-party service such as Google, we receive basic profile information from that provider, which may include your name, email address, profile photo, and account identifier. When you contact us, submit feedback, or participate in community features, we collect the information you provide in those communications.
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you access or use the OndaCast Service, we automatically collect certain information, including:

- Usage Data: Listening activity (stations played, duration, frequency), search queries, favorites, collections, ratings, and interactions with the OndaCast Service
- Location Information: Approximate geolocation derived from your IP address, used to provide location-based recommendations such as local radio stations. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates unless you explicitly grant permission through your browser or device settings.
C. Information from Third-Party Sources
We may receive information about you from third-party sources, including social networks (when you sign in via Google or other OAuth providers), app stores, analytics services, and advertising partners. This may include your name, email, user ID, demographic information, and device identifiers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the OndaCast Service
- Personalize your experience with tailored station recommendations, content suggestions, and search results
- Process your account registration and manage your user profile
- Communicate with you about service updates, security alerts, and administrative messages
- Send you promotional communications about offers, features, or products available through the OndaCast Service (you may opt out at any time)
- Monitor and analyze usage trends and preferences to improve our algorithms and features
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity
- Conduct research and development to enhance the OndaCast Service
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personally identifiable information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors, consultants, and service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, analytics, content delivery, customer support, and email services. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to us.
- Advertising Partners: We may share anonymized or aggregated data with advertising partners to deliver relevant advertisements. See Section 4 for your opt-out options.
- Business Affiliates: We may share information with our affiliates, subsidiaries, and business partners in connection with offering you the OndaCast Service.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the OndaCast Service of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
4. Interest-Based Advertising & Your Choices
OndaCast may display advertisements that are tailored to your interests based on your use of the OndaCast Service and other websites and services. These advertisements may be delivered by third-party advertising networks. To deliver interest-based ads, these networks may place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser or use other technologies to collect information about your visits to the OndaCast Service and other websites.
You can opt out of receiving interest-based advertising from many advertising networks through the following resources:
- DAA WebChoices: optout.aboutads.info — Manage interest-based advertising preferences for participating companies
- Network Advertising Initiative: optout.networkadvertising.org
- Your Online Choices (EU): youronlinechoices.eu
On mobile devices, you can adjust your device settings to limit ad tracking. On iOS, go to Settings > Privacy > Tracking. On Android, go to Settings > Google > Ads. Please note that opting out of interest-based advertising does not mean you will stop seeing ads; rather, the ads you see may be less relevant to your interests.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
OndaCast uses cookies, local storage, and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience:
- Essential Cookies: Required for authentication, security, and core functionality of the OndaCast Service. These cannot be disabled without impacting service functionality.
- Preference Cookies: Store your settings such as volume level, theme preference, language selection, and recently played stations.
- Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors use the OndaCast Service, which pages are most popular, and how users navigate through the site. This data is used to improve the OndaCast Service.
- Local Storage: Used to persist user preferences, onboarding progress, cached data for offline-capable features, listening session state, and playback resume positions for podcasts and audiobooks (e.g., the timestamp where you stopped listening, so you can continue from where you left off). This data is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers unless you are signed in and have enabled cross-device sync.
You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. However, disabling cookies may limit some functionality of the OndaCast Service.
6. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: You may update or correct your account information at any time through your profile settings, or by contacting us.
- Deletion: You may delete your account directly from your profile settings page at any time. You may also request deletion by contacting us. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business purposes.
- Data Portability: You may request an export of your personal data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Opt Out of Communications: You may unsubscribe from promotional emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any such email. Note that you cannot opt out of administrative or transactional emails relating to your account or the OndaCast Service.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. However, withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing conducted prior to withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We may request specific information from you to confirm your identity before processing your request. We will respond to your request within 30 days, or as required by applicable law.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personally identifiable information for as long as you use the OndaCast Service or as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, provide our services, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws.
When we no longer have a legitimate business need to retain your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it. Anonymized and aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement purposes.
8. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, physical, and electronic measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL (HTTPS)
- Secure password hashing for account credentials
- Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments
- Access controls limiting who can access user data
- Monitoring for suspicious or unauthorized activity
However, no method of transmitting information over the Internet or storing information is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. In the event of a security breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you electronically, via email, or through a prominent notice on the OndaCast Service, in accordance with applicable law.
Some third-party radio stations stream their content over unsecured HTTP connections rather than encrypted HTTPS. To protect the security of the OndaCast Service and avoid mixed-content browser warnings, these streams are opened in a separate popup player window. OndaCast does not control the security practices of third-party broadcasters and is not responsible for the encryption or privacy practices of their streams. You acknowledge that listening to streams delivered over HTTP may expose your listening activity to your network provider or other intermediaries.
Third-Party Content & Services
OndaCast is a directory and aggregation service. All radio streams, podcast episodes, audiobooks, and TV channels accessible through OndaCast are hosted and controlled by third parties. When you access third-party content through OndaCast, the third party's own privacy policy and terms of use govern their collection and use of your data. OndaCast is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party content provider, broadcaster, or platform. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through OndaCast.
9. Children's Privacy
The OndaCast Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (and in certain jurisdictions under the age of 16). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under these ages. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].
10. International Data Transfers
Your personally identifiable information collected via or by OndaCast may be transferred to, processed, and stored anywhere in the world, including in countries other than the country in which you reside. By providing information to OndaCast, you explicitly consent to the transfer of your information to these locations, including the United States and the European Economic Area.
We take steps to ensure that your data receives an adequate level of protection regardless of where it is processed, in accordance with applicable data protection laws including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.
11. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") feature that sends a signal to the websites you visit indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. Because there is not yet a common understanding of how to interpret DNT signals, the OndaCast Service does not currently respond to DNT browser signals. You can use the other opt-out mechanisms described in this Privacy Policy to control the collection and use of your information.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and provide notice through the OndaCast Service or via email to the address associated with your account. Your continued use of the OndaCast Service after such notification constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
