Date: June 15, 2026. Lesson 116-2026. Title: Breaking Cycles: Trusting God Instead of Getting Even

Proverbs 24:29 confronts the natural desire for retaliation and exposes the danger of personal vengeance. When wronged, the human heart often seeks to repay injury with injury, but wisdom calls for a higher response. Rather than saying, “I will do to him as he hath done to me,” God’s people are instructed to leave judgment in the Lord’s hands and refuse the cycle of revenge. In this lesson of Morning Manna, Doc Burkhart examines the difference between justice and retaliation, why resentment enslaves the soul, and how trusting God as the righteous Judge frees believers from the burden of getting even. This powerful proverb reminds us that spiritual maturity is revealed not by how we respond to kindness, but by how we respond to offense.
