Blue Jays Designate Rodriguez for Assignment

The Toronto Blue Jays have designated right-handed pitcher Yariel Rodriguez for assignment, a move that comes as the team revamps its starting rotation. Rodriguez, who had a strong performance last season with a 3.08 ERA and 66 strikeouts, was an important part of the Blue Jays bullpen during their World Series run. However, recent additions to the pitching staff and his higher postseason ERA likely influenced the decision. The Blue Jays now have seven days to trade, release, or waive Rodriguez, who is expected to attract interest from several teams due to his career ERA of 3.83 and versatility as a starter and long reliever.
