J3ZZ is a French artist & musician from Réunion Island. Trained as a violinist and shaped by a decade of live performance and cross-cultural collaboration, his practice expanded progressively into film scoring, stage composition, and ultimately immersive installations — sensor-driven environments where sound, light, and living systems converge into time-based media art. Working at the intersection of sound art, music, light, programming, and science, his practice unfolds through releases, live performances, and spatial installations. A sustained interest in microsound and ambisonics field recording has led him to incorporate the barely audible into increasingly complex compositional architectures — time as an elastic material, the infinitesimal as subject matter. This meticulous attention to the barely audible often contrasts with his use of the acoustic violin, an instrument whose character he transforms through synthesizers, effects processing, and sensors. The tension between organic string timbre and electronic manipulation creates a dynamic interplay between the natural and the synthetic.
