The Ghost in the Harvest Field: The Forgotten Grave of the Wentz Farm

From The Whispering Woods : Real Life Ghost & Paranormal Stories True, Scary, Paranormal, Folklore and Ghost Stories

In 1892, a farm worker near Salem, Oregon, returned to a cultivated field after supper and claimed to encounter a pale woman standing beside his plough. When he tried to strike her, the blows passed straight through her, and she chased him across the field towards the farmhouse. Locals connected the apparition to an older story of a pioneer woman whose grave had once been avoided by ploughmen before its location was forgotten and crops began growing over the place where she lay.
