AFTER DARK | Melon Heads in the Winter Woods : Urban Legends and Creepy Folklore

On frozen backroads from Ohio to Michigan and Connecticut, stories persist of small, feral figures with grotesquely swollen heads stalking the tree line. From Dr. Crow’s abused “patients” on Wisner Road to asylum escapees along Connecticut’s infamous “Dracula Drive,” the Melon Heads legend blends real medical conditions, social cruelty, and spooky eyewitness accounts into one of America’s most unsettling modern monster tales.
