Doorway to Hell: The Licking County Jail – True Hauntings Podcast

In this episode of True Hauntings, we lock ourselves in with the lost, the violent, and the vengeful. They called it “The Closest Thing to Hell.” A name scrawled on a wooden sign by a chicken thief, but backed by nearly a century of darkness. The Old Licking County Jail in Ohio shut its doors in 1987 after 98 brutal years—but the inmates never left. Join Anne and Renata as they step inside a fortress of stone and steel where tormented souls still linger. From chilling EVPs and shadowy apparitions to the slamming of unseen cell doors and eerie chants echoing through the halls, this is more than just a haunted jail—it’s a prison of the damned. With infamous inmates like the murderous Laura Devlin—who earned herself a new name after a crime too twisted to forget—this place doesn’t just hold echoes of the past… it replays them.
