CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys agree to massive four-year contract extension, and more news
The Dallas Cowboys secured CeeDee Lamb to a four-year contract extension worth $136 million ($100 million guaranteed), a person familiar with the deal told The Dallas Morning News on Monday; in other news, President Richard C. Benson, who oversaw dramatic advances at the University of Texas at Dallas, is the latest leader to announce his upcoming departure as higher education in the state comes under increased scrutiny. Officials at the University of Texas at Dallas announced Monday that Benson will step down when the UT System board finds his successor, likely by the end of this academic year. Dallas Fort Worth is sprouting from the roots of being the Sun Belt’s economic powerhouse into one of the biggest ones in the country. Though New York City and, to some extent Chicago, are still the kings, slow growth after COVID-19 means Dallas is in the right place at the right time to emerge with the financial crown; and with Labor Day on the way, check out DallasNews.com for a list of fun events to check out this weekend.
