The Book of Jubilees Decoded: The Missing Genesis and the Angel Wars

The Book of Jubilees was preserved in multiple copies among the Dead Sea Scrolls, referenced by early Church Fathers, and is still considered scripture by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. It doesn’t just retell Genesis… it expands it. This ancient text introduces a structured angelic hierarchy, a mathematically precise 364-day calendar, and a figure named Mastema, a prince of hostility who operates within limits set by God. So why was it left out of the Bible? In this episode of Broadcasting Seeds, Bennett Tanton breaks down the history, theology, and deeper implications of the Book of Jubilees, and what it might reveal about time, order, and the unseen structure behind reality.
