Don & Darren Yazzie| They Told Us Never to Whistle at Night… Here’s Why

What if the warnings were never superstition… but survival? In this episode of Broadcasting Seeds, I sit down with Don Yazzie and Darren Yazzie from the Don’t Whistle at Night podcast to explore Navajo perspectives on Skinwalkers, Bigfoot, Dogman, Sabre-tooth cat sightings, UFOs, portals, and generational encounters passed down through oral tradition. For many Native communities, these stories were never entertainment. They were caution. Instruction. Protection. We talk about: • The real meaning behind “Don’t Whistle at Night” • The difference between pop-culture Skinwalkers and traditional understanding • Bigfoot as “Children of the Night” • The Rule of Two • Sabre-tooth cat encounters in the Southwest • UFO correlations and soft disclosure • Why these stories were spoken in whispers • And why documenting them now matters This conversation isn’t about hype. It’s about preservation, respect, and understanding a worldview that has acknowledged high strangeness long before it was trending online. There’s a difference between chasing monsters… and listening to warnings. Watch. Listen. And decide for yourself.
