Regional Media Movie Review: Sean's Review of Practical Magic 2
Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are back for Practical Magic 2, revisiting the Owens family curse from the 1996 original. Film critic Sean Kernan says the sequel adds Joey King and Maisie Williams as Bullock’s daughters, with King’s character discovering both romance and her witchy legacy when her boyfriend is marked by the family curse. The story sends her to England in search of a way to break it, with Bullock and Kidman close behind. Kernan says nostalgia may draw fans in, but the stop-and-start pacing and lack of laughs keep the magic from fully landing. Practical Magic 2 is in theaters this weekend.
