Trump's Mentor Was a 1980s TV Maniac | Morton Downey Jr.

Before Fox News, before Jerry Springer, before Alex Jones there was Morton Downey Jr., the man who invented modern rage media and almost nobody remembers.

Paranoid American and Uncle Sean break down The Evocator (2012), the wild documentary chronicling the meteoric rise and fall of Morton Downey Jr. the forgotten shock jock who invented the playbook for Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, Al Sharpton, and arguably Donald Trump himself. From staged hate crimes to metal-detector audiences to a secret confession caught on camera, this doc is a jaw-dropping masterclass in how media, politics, and performance blur into one beast.
