Aeon Flux Deep Dive: Sex, Death & Propaganda in 12 Minutes

Aeon Flux was a beautiful blend of propaganda, sexuality, and esoteric mind control jam packed inside 12 minutes of MTV animation.

We dig into the hidden symbolism, conspiratorial undertones, and dark esoteric themes buried inside Aeon Flux's original Liquid Television pilot. From its MK Ultra-adjacent imagery and Venus Eye Trap iconography to the sexually charged warfare between Aeon and Trevor that may mirror real-world power dynamics. This episode unpacks why Peter Chung's radical vision was too hot for 1991, how the show used body language instead of dialogue as a form of psychological transmission, and why a thumbtack might be the most subversive plot device in animation history.
