Game Day in Detroit: Franklin Out, Love Cleared, and the Long Wait for 3:25, & Frozen Tundra Man
It's game day. The Packers play the Lions at Ford Field at 3:25 Central on FOX, and Cal Hutson has the final injury report. Captain Zaire Franklin is out with a shin injury, ending a 48-game streak, with Edgerrin Cooper already on IR. That means Isaiah McDuffie and Ty'Ron Hopper get the call against Jahmyr Gibbs. The good news: Jordan Love is off the injury report, along with Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Lukas Van Ness and rookie Brandon Cisse. Aaron Banks, Bo Melton, Benjamin St-Juste and Jordon Riley are questionable, and Josh Jacobs is expected to make his season debut. Detroit is rested, healthy and bringing everybody. Cal breaks down four keys to the game, Love's numbers at Ford Field and Watson's history against Detroit, and the character test that is a 3:25 kickoff. He also tips his cap to Jeff Kahlow, the Frozen Tundra Man from Fond du Lac. Kahlow is in his 24th season of hot-gluing icicles to his face for Packers games, and he has carved more than 29,000 foam hats at Big Guy Hats, including a goat hat for Simone Biles. Then Cal makes his pick. Subscribe to the Packernet Podcast and leave a review so more fans can find the show.
