Backup QB Decision, Parsons Injury Update, and the Case for Advanced Pass Rush Metrics

Ryan Schlipp is fired up — and he's got the math to back it up. 🧮🔥 In this episode of the Packernet Podcast, Ryan goes deep on one of the most frustrating arguments in Packers fandom: judging a pass rusher solely by his sack total. Using Will Anderson Jr.'s record-breaking $50M/year extension as the framework, Ryan walks Pack Nation through an EPA-based breakdown that exposes just how little sack numbers actually tell you — and why dismissing pressures, hits, and hurries is flat-out intellectually dishonest.

This episode covers:

• 📊 Why sacks may account for as little as 25–30% of a pass rusher's total value — and what that means for evaluating Lucas Van Ness
• 💥 How Will Anderson's 85 non-sack pressures are cumulatively worth more than his 17 sacks using PFF's own EPA valuations
• 🏈 The backup QB decision broken down — why DeShone Kizer... wait, no — why the veteran mobility approach makes the most sense for this Packers roster
• 🩺 Brian Gutekunst's Sirius XM update on Tucker Kraft and Micah Parsons' recovery timelines and what "early in the season" actually means

Ryan isn't asking you to love advanced metrics — he's asking you to sit with the question: if sacks aren't the full picture, what is your answer? Subscribe, drop a rating, and let Pack Nation know where you stand.
