Hindsight is 20/20 after falling for a scam; the trick is avoiding one in the first place. Daniel Simons is professor in the department of psychology at the University of Illinois, where he directs the Visual Cognition Laboratory. His book, written with co-author Christopher Chabris, is “Nobody’s Fool: Why We Get Taken In and What We Can Do about It.”
