Laura Marano: Reflecting on Austin & Ally, Original Sound & Finding Herself

From I've Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario iHeartPodcasts

This week, Tommy is joined by actress and singer Laura Marano, best known for her breakout role as Ally on Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally. From navigating early fame to growing up in the spotlight alongside co-stars like Ross Lynch and Raini Rodriguez, Laura reflects on her journey from Disney star to independent artist. She opens up about the pressures of red carpets, insecurities around public image, and what it really took to break out of the “Disney mold” while staying true to herself. Plus, she shares behind-the-scenes memories from Austin & Ally, including exciting news. Laura discusses her new film, Original Sound, which is out in theaters now, and why she was attracted to this very different type of role. She also dives into her music career, from songwriting the old-school way on paper to releasing new music and reclaiming her sound.
