If You Knew Suzy: A Story That Redefines What’s Possible

In If You Knew Suzy: Pushing Past the Boundaries of ‘Never’, author Jane Fischer shares the breathtaking true story of her daughter, Suzy—a young woman born with severe brain defects and given a lifetime of “nevers” by the medical world. She’d never walk. Never talk. Never function. But Suzy had other plans.

Fueled by the unwavering love of her mother and family, Suzy’s journey is one of defiance, dignity, and quiet triumph. She danced. She competed. She lived independently. She worked in a classroom for over two decades—and touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

This book isn’t just Suzy’s story—it’s a lifeline for parents navigating the complex world of disability, and a wake-up call to anyone who’s ever underestimated the human spirit. Raw, hopeful, and deeply human, If You Knew Suzy is a testament to the strength of love, the power of perseverance, and the beauty of rewriting the rules.
