After Elijah ran into the wilderness, God met with him. First came the violent wind, tearing up the rocks. Then came an earthquake and finally, fire. Though we might imagine that God would show up in power, God was not in any of these signs. Finally, there was a moment of silence, a quiet like the eye of a storm, or a gentle whisper.
