Fungus Gnats, Soil vs Coco, Flowering Stress, £300 Grow Setup & Bringing Pollinated Plants Indoors | Listener Mail #6

It's Listener Mail time once again, and this week's episode is packed with practical growing advice, community questions, and the usual dose of High on Home Grown banter! We kick things off by discussing one of the most common indoor growing pests: fungus gnats. The panel shares their favourite methods for preventing and controlling infestations, including biological controls like beneficial nematodes, and how to stop these annoying little pests before they become a real problem. We also dive into one of the biggest decisions new growers face: soil or coco? We compare the pros and cons of each medium, explain why coco often produces faster growth, and highlight the common mistakes growers make when switching from soil to coco for the first time. The conversation then turns to late-flower stress techniques, discussing whether methods like extended darkness, drought stress, or ice water actually increase resin production, or if they're simply long-standing grower myths. We also answer a great question about how we'd each spend £300 on a beginner grow setup, sharing what we'd prioritise, where we'd save money, and what we'd avoid. Finally, we tackle an important question about bringing a pollinated outdoor plant back indoors, explaining how long pollen remains viable and what precautions growers should take to avoid accidentally seeding the rest of their crop. As always, it's another relaxed episode full of useful growing knowledge, community questions, plenty of laughs, and even a philosophical discussion about just how much wood a woodchuck could chuck... 🌐 Website: https://highonhomegrown.com💬 Discord: https://discord.gg/sqYGkF4xyQ📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/highonhomegrown
