Five Baby Orangutans Found in India | Global News

Five baby orangutans, thousands of miles from their native Indonesia and Malaysia, were found eating bananas in a forest in Odisha, India — sparking an urgent rescue and investigation. Authorities suspect they were trafficked and abandoned near a highway, with no adult orangutans nearby, raising alarms about their survival and the potential involvement of an international smuggling ring. This troubling discovery follows a similar case in 2022, highlighting a disturbing pattern of illegal wildlife trafficking that threatens these critically endangered apes.
