Artemis Heroes Step Back from Flight | Global News

Artemis II’s trailblazing crew is stepping back from flight—but not out of the mission. Commander Reid Wiseman and pilot Victor Glover, who set a new human distance record orbiting the moon, are transitioning to emeritus roles, mentoring the next generation while staying deeply involved in NASA’s lunar ambitions. Glover’s already leading at Cal Poly to inspire future engineers, while Wiseman, once NASA’s chief astronaut, wraps up his storied career this month. Both received top honors, including the Congressional Space Medal of Honor. With only Christina Koch remaining as an active Artemis II astronaut, their legacy lives on—not just in space, but in shaping tomorrow’s explorers.
