Trump Administration Threatens NCAR, Climate Research Hub

The Trump administration is reportedly dismantling the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Colorado, a global leader in climate change research. The lab, managed by a nonprofit group of over one hundred thirty colleges and universities, supports crucial work to predict, prepare for, and respond to severe weather and natural disasters. Dismantling NCAR would significantly impact our scientific understanding of the planet, according to climate scientists like Katharine Hayhoe. Colorado Governor Jared Polis also emphasized the labs critical role in earth systems scientific research beyond just climate science. DNN | The Daily News Now!
