Mars Mission: Two Satellites Journey to Red Planet

ESCAPADE mission embarks on a groundbreaking journey to Mars, sending two satellites to study its magnetic field and atmosphere. This is the first time two satellites are being sent to another planet together, offering a three-dimensional view of Mars magnetic field. The mission, led by Robert Lillis, aims to understand how the solar wind has stripped away Mars atmosphere over millions of years. The unique trajectory, using Earths gravity for a slingshot effect, saves fuel and allows for more scientific data collection. This innovative approach could also benefit future human missions and supply runs to Mars. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network. Every city. Every story. AI powered.
