6.3 Charles Grob "Trips to die for!"

DECONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM meets professor Charles Grob. Dr. Grob has been the Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center since 1993. And even for a specialist on mood and anxiety disorders he’s extraordinarily sympathethic and charming. Professor Grob is a believer in the self-medication hypothesis of substance abuse. Which basically means that het hinks that if someone is using or abusing a substance it might be because of a biological or psychological lack that the subject tries to compensate for. He has published in the professional literature on a variety of topics, including adolescent development and psychopathology, cross-cultural models of substance use and misuse and the history of hallucinogens in psychiatry. His research has included the first FDA approved Phase 1 study of the physiological and psychological effects of MDMA, a multi-national, collaborative study of the Amazonian plant hallucinogen decoction, ayahuasca, in Brazil and a pilot investigation of the safety and efficacy of psilocybin in the treatment of anxiety in adult patients with advanced-stage terminal cancer. And on top of everything else he’s an expert on hallucinogenic literature and the author of the book Hallucinogens: a Reader which provides a good overview on the topic in case this discussion prompts you to find out more: https://www.amazon.com/Hallucinogens-Reader-New-Consciousness/dp/1585421669http://www.harboruclapsych.com/charles-s-grob-m-d/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4XL_Hk_L5ghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqTm50Rw0hUUntil next, have a good time unit!Edited by Marcus Blomgren - contact at Instagram @marcusbrummgrenIntro by:Intractable by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (creativecommons.org/licenses/...)Source: incompetech.com/music/royalty-...Artist: incompetech.com/ STÖTTA DEKONSTRUKTIV KRITIK: Swish: 1235198478 paypal.me/ARONFLAM Patreon: www.patreon.com/ARONFLAM Bitcoin: 3EPQMEMVh6MtG3bTbGc71Yz8NrMAMF4kSH www.aronflam.com Edited by Marcus Tigerdraake, Silverdrake Förlag www.silverdrakeforlag.se Intro by: Intractable by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (creativecommons.org/licenses/...)
