It means the rule should be the same for everyone — but it isn’t. Examples: 1- Teachers were encouraged to deeply care about students’ progress and well-being… yet the company announced the closure with only a few days’ notice — leaving both tutors and students unprepared. That was a painful double standard. 2- Parents tell their children not to use their phones at dinner… while scrolling during the meal themselves. Classic double standard.
