Newsomes Opportunity: Browns CB Steps Up After Injury

Browns cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. is out for the 2025 season with a torn Achilles, thrusting Greg Newsome II into a starting role opposite Denzel Ward. Newsome, who struggled last year and voiced frustration with his role, now has a clear opportunity to prove his worth in a contract year. Despite the devastating loss of his close friend Emerson, Newsome is healthy, focused, and determined to earn a long-term future in Cleveland after overcoming last season's injury struggles. This season is pivotal for both Newsome and the Browns defense, as his performance could dictate his future with the team and the unit's overall success. DNN | The Daily News Now!
