On the afternoon of the 24 th October 2024, 17-year-old Fatima Ali was confronted by her parents, Ihsan and Zahraa, after running away from home to avoid an arranged marriage in Iraq. After refusing to comply with her parents demands, Fatima was wrestled to the ground and put in a chokehold that almost killed her.
