The Daily Herold: 8/24/26 - Canada Trade War and Bessent's "Operation Economic Outcast"

Jon Herold calls it a boring Monday news cycle but still digs into Trump's newly announced 50 percent tariffs on Canadian autos, parts, and steel starting in 2027, reading through the Truth Social post accusing Canada of running up a 60 billion dollar trade deficit. He plays clips from Treasury Secretary Bessent's rollout of "Operation Economic Outcast," a sweeping sanctions campaign aimed at cutting Iran off from the global economy, and a JD Vance clip on socialism that Jon thinks echoes past comments a little too closely. Other topics include a massive 13.7 billion dollar AI chip deal for Rumble Group, a viral Spencer Pratt rant about "mommy sleuth" TikTok conspiracy culture around Charlie Kirk's death, and a look at USAID fraud reporting. Sponsor reads, chat banter, and some personal football coaching stories round out a slower Monday show.
