Parvo Kills Dogs Within 48 To 72 Hours Prevention From Dr Chris George
Canine parvovirus – an often-fatal puppy disease – has the highest reported outbreak rates in seven states, according to new data from Elanco Animal Health. Some of the states with highest reported cases of canine parvovirus outbreaks include: California, Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Illinois and New York. But just because your state isn’t on the list doesn’t mean your puppy is not at risk. For the second annual National Parvo Awareness Day, Dr. Chris George, veterinarian and infectious disease specialist with Elanco Animal Health, is helping spread awareness in support of the goal to defend puppyhood. Annually, parvo affects more than 330,000 puppies, contributing to a staggering 91% mortality rate without supportive care. However, only 44% of consumers are aware of the disease and symptoms. On April 21, Chris is available to share tips for how pet owners can protect their pets from parvovirus, outline the symptoms to watch for in case their dog gets sick and discuss what tools and treatment options are available: Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support .
