War criminal Ratko Mladic dies in The Hague
The UN Secretary General has expressed his solidarity with the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, following the death of Ratko Mladic, saying the massacre cannot be forgotten. The former Bosnian Serb military commander was convicted of genocide and war crimes in the Bosnian war, which is regarded as Europe's worst atrocity since World War Two. Long referred to as the "butcher of Bosnia," he's died in custody at The Hague while serving a life sentence, aged 84.
