Lt: Saulė aukštai danguje švietė, o miškas dvelkė vasariniu šilumos kvapu.
En: The sun shone high in the sky, and the forest was filled with the scent of summer warmth.

Lt: Kadaise čia dundėjo gyvenimas, bet dabar tik tyla ir gamtos garsai, retkarčiais nutraukiami žingsnių miško tankmėje.
En: Once, life thrived there, but now there was only silence and the sounds of nature, occasionally interrupted by footsteps in the dense forest.

Lt: Jokūbas ėjo senu miško taku, atidžiai žvalgydamasis į šalis.
En: Jokūbas walked along an old forest path, carefully scanning his surroundings.

Lt: Jis ieškojo ką nors valgyti, sutelkęs visą dėmesį į sumedėjusias uogas ir miško grybus.

Lt: — Jokūbas, — atsakė jis, truputį atsitraukęs, tačiau neuglausdamas, kad nėra ginkluotas.
En: "Jokūbas," he replied, stepping back a little but making sure not to appear armed.

Lt: — Ieškau maisto. O kas tu?
En: "I'm looking for food. And you?"

Lt: — Rūta, — atsakė moteris, šiek tiek išdidžiai, nors jos širdis daužėsi iš nerimo.
En: "Rūta," the woman replied, somewhat proudly, although her heart was pounding with anxiety.

Lt: — Aš taip pat ieškau maisto ir... vietos, kur jaučiau saugumą.
En: "I'm also looking for food and... a place where I feel safe."

Lt: Jie kurį laiką stovėjo tylą, ausdami įtemptą dialogą be žodžių.
En: They stood in silence for a while, weaving a tense dialogue without words.

Lt: Galop tarpusavio įtampa tapo nebeįmanoma aplenkti.
En: Eventually, the mutual tension became impossible to avoid.

Lt: — Galėtume būti saugūs kartu, — drąsiai tarė Jokūbas, nors net pats nenumanė iš kur tas sugebėjimas pasidalinti tokiu pasitikėjimu.
En: "We could be safe together," Jokūbas said boldly, though he himself had no idea where that ability to share such trust came from.

Lt: Rūta ilgai žiūrėjo į jį, vertindama neaiškią pasiūlymą.
En: Rūta looked at him for a long time, weighing the vague proposal.

Lt: — Galbūt, — atsakė netikinčiai, — bet tik tuomet, jei pasiryši išgirsti...
