With a career spanning decades, this American country music singer and songwriter has built a reputation for blending honky-tonk, sentimental ballads, and patriotic anthems that resonate with the working-class. Before achieving stardom, he honed his craft as a staff songwriter for Acuff-Rose Music, where his compositions were recorded by notable artists like Charley Pride, Mark Collie, and David Ball. His breakout hit, You've Got to Stand for Something, soared to the top ten on the country charts during the Gulf War, marking the beginning of a successful recording career with RCA Nashville.
