The Pukwudgie: Trickster Beings of Native American Legend

Long before European settlers arrived, Native tribes across New England spoke of small, magical beings that could vanish at will, lure travelers into the woods, and cast powerful illusions — the Pukwudgies. Standing only a few feet tall but armed with glowing eyes, poison arrows, and shapeshifting powers, these tricksters were said to bring both gifts and curses to those who crossed their path. In this episode of Cryptid Files, host Paige Carter explores the deep origins of the Pukwudgie legend — from ancient Wampanoag stories to modern-day encounters near sacred sites like Freetown State Forest. Are these spirits, cryptids, or something even older than both? Because sometimes, the smallest creatures guard the biggest secrets. 🌐 Visit: www.theforbiddenknowledgenetwork.com
