About

Born: June 25, 1939 in United States Died: March 24, 1997

In the vibrant music scene of 1950s Philadelphia, a legendary vocal group was born under the name The Charlemagnes, laying the foundation for a soulful legacy that would span decades. By the 1970s, this talented ensemble had evolved into one of the most iconic Philadelphia soul groups, delivering hits that blended soul, R&B, doo-wop, and disco styles. With a legacy that continued long after the passing of founder Harold Melvin in 1997, the Blue Notes remain a testament to the enduring power of their timeless music.
