About
From: Belgium
Meet the enigmatic figure often referred to as Balthazar, a name that translates to "Bel protects the King" from ancient Akkadian, signifying a deep reverence for the Babylonian deity Bel. This moniker was adopted in the Western church during the 8th century as one of the Three Wise Men, alongside other names used in Eastern churches. Interestingly, Balthazar shares a connection with the infamous Babylonian king Belshazzar, featured in the biblical Book of Daniel.
