About

Born: January 8, 1967 in Chicago

The trailblazing artist behind the iconic monikers 'the King of R&B', 'the King of Pop-Soul', and 'the Pied Piper of R&B' rose to unprecedented commercial success in contemporary R&B, hip-hop, and pop music, with a Billboard ranking of the 9th greatest R&B artist of all time. With a storied career spanning multiple decades, this influential figure left an indelible mark on the music industry. However, a 2021 and 2022 convictions ultimately led to a 31-year sentence for child sex offences, marking a somber end to his legacy.
