About

Hailing from the vibrant island of Guadeloupe, this French Caribbean band has been a driving force in 20th-century West Indies music since their formation in 1979. Blending traditional rhythms like gwoka, tibwa, and Mendé with modern styles, they played a pivotal role in shaping the zouk genre. Their unique sound, a fusion of cadence-lypso and compas traditions, has left an indelible mark on the musical landscape of the French West Indies.
