About
Born: July 4, 1943 in United States
Behind the iconic sound of Parliament-Funkadelic and Bootsy's Rubber Band lies the legendary horn section known as the Horny Horns. Led by the inimitable trombonist Fred Wesley, this dynamic ensemble brought together some of the most talented musicians of the era, including the incomparable saxophonist Maceo Parker and trumpeters Rick Gardner and Richard Griffith. The Horny Horns' infectious grooves and virtuosic playing helped define the sound of 1970s funk.
