Khabib and Islam's Relationship | Josh Thomson Explains

This is a different kind of episode of Weighing In as Josh Thomson sits down with longtime channel member Alejandro Gutierrez for an honest, wide-ranging conversation about MMA, the UFC, fighting, training, and what it's really like behind the scenes of the sport. Josh and Alejandro debate one of the biggest questions in the lightweight division: Who was the better fighter—Khabib Nurmagomedov or Islam Makhachev? They also talk about the growing problem of keyboard warriors and fans disrespecting fighters online, why Josh believes Islam Makhachev vs. Ian Machado Garry could potentially turn into a boring fight, and what made Khabib's dominance so special—including the incredible submission of Justin Gaethje. The conversation goes beyond fight predictions, with Josh opening up about his sponsorship experiences, training with Cain Velasquez, and some of the lessons that shaped the fighters we know today. Plus, the guys discuss Mackenzie Dern vs. Gillian Robertson, Dana White's Contender Series, and the legendary work ethic instilled by Khabib's father. This is what Weighing In Membership is all about—giving the members who support the channel an opportunity to sit down with Josh, have real conversations, debate MMA and ask the questions they want answered.
