Valley Rat | A Teenage Fight Turns Deadly on Highway 421

A teenage fight turns into a deadly reckoning in Charles Campbell’s “Valley Rat.” On a hot day in 1981, Dusty Turner walks into the Minute Shop proud of standing up to the Elliott brothers. Then a police officer arrives with news that Jesse Elliott is dead. Johnny wants revenge, and a challenge at Caver Park draws Dusty toward a confrontation he cannot easily refuse. This Southern crime-horror story follows the unwritten rules of a small Highway 421 community, where pride runs deep and people keep their own secrets. Who decides what justice looks like in the Valley?
