Unknown Broadcast | The Hitchhiker: Orson Welles’ Cross-Country Road Nightmare

The same hitchhiker waits ahead of Ronald Adams from New York to the desert Southwest, no matter how fast he drives. Unknown Broadcast presents Lucille Fletcher’s “The Hitchhiker,” the classic Suspense thriller starring Orson Welles. A journey toward California becomes a struggle to explain a stranger who crosses impossible distances and seems invisible to everyone else. Ronald tries to outrun him, confront him and find someone who will believe him. This old-time radio ghost story makes an open highway feel like a trap.
