Tricks and Treats | Three Halloween Horror Tales with Hell’s Talent Scout

Hell’s talent scout takes a Halloween stroll in “Tricks and Treats” by Keith Tomlin. Jack Scratch is looking for mortals with a gift for cruelty, and a quiet Midwestern town has plenty of doors to try. “The White Lion” follows a family seeking one particular house; “The Countess” introduces reckless teenagers to a dangerous stranger; and “The Bunny” puts a fleeing killer in a costumed child’s path. Three linked tales turn trick-or-treating into a tour of human and supernatural evil. Jack enjoys meeting promising recruits—and Halloween gives him excellent cover.
