The Gang High Beam Initiation | A Deadly Headlight Urban Legend at Strickfield

Flashing your headlights makes you a target in Rob Fields’ “The Gang High Beam Initiation.” At Strickfield University, pledges to an exclusive fraternity must drive with their lights off and kill the first motorist who signals them. Caprice has watched another member complete the ritual. Now her own initiation approaches, and the car ahead carries someone she knows. This fictional retelling of the headlight-flashing urban legend ties campus privilege to a murderous test of loyalty. How much does belonging mean when the price is another person’s life?
