Terrifying & True | Indrid Cold, the Grinning Man — West Virginia’s Strangest UFO Visitor

In November 1966, Woodrow Derenberger reported meeting a grinning stranger near Mineral Wells, West Virginia. The visitor, he said, communicated without speaking and gave the name Indrid Cold. Terrifying & True explores the encounter, the stories that followed and the figure’s place in UFO lore and the wider Mothman mystery. Were these accounts evidence of something extraordinary, a misunderstanding or a legend taking shape? Henrique Couto traces the claims and their unsettling legacy without treating a witness’s extraordinary story as established fact.
