Terrifying & True | The Covina Christmas Massacre — A Killer in a Santa Suit

A Santa disguise brought violence to the Ortega family’s Christmas Eve gathering in Covina, California, in 2008. Bruce Pardo arrived armed, opened fire and set the home ablaze, killing nine people, including his former wife Sylvia. Terrifying & True follows the preparations investigators uncovered, the survivors’ escape and the family at the center of the tragedy. This account examines a planned act of domestic mass violence without turning the victims into holiday spectacle. How did a familiar symbol of welcome become the cover for an attack? We're telling that story tonight.
