Hunter Black | A Haunted Typewriter Brings a Teenage Author’s Killer to Life

A teenage novelist’s fictional hitman begins crossing into reality in Rob Fields’ “Hunter Black.” Simon Griffin writes his science-fiction books on his grandfather’s battered typewriter, finding refuge from Strickfield High’s bullies in the worlds he creates. But when his characters leave the page, the power to rewrite a bad day becomes something far more dangerous. This supernatural revenge story asks what happens when a young author can make every threat come true.
