Careful What You Wish | An Evil Ifrit Twists a Child’s Wish

A sick child’s wish puts an ex-con in a fight with a fire spirit in David O’Hanlon’s “Careful What You Wish.” Penn befriends ten-year-old Ed while working as a mover. An ornate bottle among a family’s belongings releases Babak, an ifrit whose promises hide cruel interpretations. Ed wants to stop being a burden; Penn must confront the creature before that wish costs the boy everything. This dark-fantasy horror adventure combines genie lore, dangerous bargains and an unlikely friendship. Penn’s past has taught him to expect trouble. It has not prepared him to bargain with living fire.
